Eligibility Criteria for admission to Diploma in Nursing
Minimum and Maximum age for admission will be 17 and 25 years respectively.
Minimum educational qualification
10 +2 class passed or its equivalent preferably with Science
(Physics, Chemistry and Biology) subjects with aggregate of 45% marks.
Those who have cleared 10+2 vocational ANM course (revised
after 2001) from the School recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
ANM training i.e.10+1 ½ years training should also have
passed + 2 or its equivalent examination.
Students shall be medically fit.
Candidates from other states other than Tamil nadu must procure migration
certificate from previous University/ Board and Eligibility certificate from
Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
Eligibility for Admission to B.Sc.(N) degree course
Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the B.Sc. degree
course in Nursing (Basic) should have passed at the qualifying examinations
(academic stream) after a period of 12 years of study with Physics,
Chemistry and Biology or Botany & Zoology.
Individual pass in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany & Zoology (both
Theory & Practical) and English with a minimum of 35% marks in each of the
above subject and with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics
Chemistry, Biology & English is mandatory.
Candidates from other states other than Tamil nadu must procure migration
certificate from previous University/ Board and Eligibility certificate from
Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
Eligibility certificate must be obtained before 31st of August from Tamil
Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
M.Sc.(Nursing) -Eligibility Criteria/Admission Requirements
The Candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife from
Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council. This is mandatory and prerequeste to
obtain eligibility from Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R.Medical University,Chennai.
The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc.(.(N)/B.Sc.
Hons. Nursing/Post Basic Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate mark.

The candidate should have undergone the full time (regular stream not
distance mode) Course in B.Sc. (N)/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc.(N)
in an Institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council
Minimum one year of experience after provisional registration of the B.Sc.
(N) course.
Minimum one year experience before/after Post Basic B.Sc.(N).
Candidates from other states other than Tamil Nadu must procure migration
certificate from previous University and Eligibility certificate from Tamil
Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
Eligibility certificate must be obtained before 31st May after provisional
registration of the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.
Candidate shall be medically fit.
