Eligibility Criteria for Admission to Diploma in Nursing
Minimum age is 17 yrs to be completed on 31st December of the year of admission, and Maximum age is 35 years.
Minimum Educational Qualification
10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health Care Science—Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 45% marks.
Those who have cleared the 10+2 vocational ANM course (revised after 2001) from a school recognized by the Indian Nursing Council
ANM training, i.e.10+1½ years training, should also have passed + 2 or its equivalent examination
Students shall be medically fit.
Candidates from states other than Tamil Nadu must procure a migration certificate from a previous University or board and an Eligibility certificate from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
Eligibility for Admission to B.Sc. (N) degree course
Minimum age is 17 yrs to be completed on 31st December of the year of admission and Maximum age is 35 years.
Candidates belonging to all categories for admission to the B.Sc.degree course in Nursing (Basic) should have passed the qualifying examinations (academic stream) after a period of 12 years of study with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Botany & Zoology. They must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together and passed in English individually.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, the marks obtained in 3 core subjects shall be 40% instead of 45% for General category candidates.
Candidates from states other than Tamil Nadu must procure a migration certificate from a previous University or board and an Eligibility certificate from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
Eligibility certificate must be obtained before the 31st of October from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
M.Sc. (Nursing) -Eligibility Criteria/Admission Requirements
The Candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered midwife from the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council. This is mandatory and a prerequisite to obtain eligibility from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.
Minimum education requirements are passing B.Sc.(N)/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post-Basic Nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate mark. [The Original marks statement of all years/semesters should be produced.]
The candidate should have undergone the full-time (regular stream, not distance mode) Course in B.Sc. (N)/B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post-Basic B.Sc. (N) in an Institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council
Minimum one year of experience after provisional registration of the B.Sc. (N) course
Minimum one year experience before/after Post Basic B.Sc. (N).
Candidates from states other than Tamil Nadu must procure a migration certificate from their previous University and an Eligibility certificate from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
Eligibility certificate must be obtained before 31st October after provisional registration of the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council.
Candidate shall be medically fit.
